Essential Tips for Hiking Tea Country
- Best Time to Go: Aim for December to April during the drier, clearer window in the central highlands.
- What to Wear & Bring: Wear sturdy hiking shoes or trail runners (paths can be slippery or muddy after sudden mountain showers) and carry a light jacket or rain shell, as higher elevations turn chilly. Watch out for leeches if hiking after rain.
- Etiquette: Always greet local tea pickers politely, ask permission before taking close-up portraits, and stay on established dirt tracks to avoid damaging the tea bushes.
